Tell us a little about yourself:
I am 10 years old. My pony Peanut is 17, he is my best friend. We compete in the jumper ring and our favorite show venue is WEC Ocala. We love being able to pop into the Free Ride Shop after we show, to tell them how we did and pick out a new outfit. I am half British, half Irish and was born in the UK, but grew up learning to ride in Ireland, galloping along beaches and jumping very big jumps for how small I was. When we came to the US I met Peanut and fell in love, he became my very first pony and we have had so much fun together for the past two years. Even though he can’t jump very big I have enjoyed working on the other important parts of my riding. My dream is to ride in Grand Prixs one day and Peanut is my perfect teacher for that, he is as spicy as a Grand Prix horse and is incredible in a jump off. He has taught me so much and I love every day I spend with him, especially the quiet moments when I can just sit and read to him. He is my dream pony in every way possible.
What’s the most important lesson horses have taught you?
Anything can happen, enjoy every moment and when things go wrong stay positive and trust that everything will work out in the end. One day you could earn double Grand Champion at WEC with your pony with huge plans for the winter circuit and weeks later your pony could be injured and out for months.
Oh, and to always wear Full Seat Breeches!
Do you have a routine or item for good luck before a competition? If so, what is it?
I have a lucky horse shoe necklace!
Who inspires you to push further, show up more, and to keep striving to the next level?
My amazing trainers and a few other very special Grand Prix level riders. I dream of competing at the same level on day.
